EticaAG has been nominated for four Energy Storage Awards: Newcomer/Start up of the Year, Breakthrough R&D/Innovation of the Year, Safety Product of the Year, and Product of the Year. The recognition highlights EticaAG’s rapid impact and its LiquidShield and HazGuard technologies, which redefine safety, performance, and reliability in energy storage. At the awards, EticaAG was highly commended for both Safety Product of the Year and Product of the Year.

Energy Storage Awards Recognize EticaAG

EticaAG, a pioneer in non-flammable, immersion-cooled battery energy storage systems, has been nominated for four honors at The Energy Storage Awards 2025.

  1. Newcomer/Start-up of the Year
  2. Breakthrough R&D/Innovation of the Year
  3. Safety Product of the Year
  4. Product of the Year

These nominations recognize EticaAG’s rapid emergence as a transformative force in the global energy storage sector. Founded as a Joint Venture in 2024, EticaAG has swiftly established itself as a technology leader through its LiquidShield™ Immersion Cooling and HazGuard™ Gas Mitigation systems—advancing safety, performance, and sustainability in large-scale energy storage.

“From day one, our mission has been to redefine what safety and reliability mean in battery energy storage,” said Jaime Hidalgo, Co-Founder and CEO of EticaAG. “These nominations validate the dedication of our R&D team and the industry’s growing recognition that fire-safe, high-performance storage is essential for the renewable transition.”

Recognizing Innovation and Market Impact

The Newcomer/Start-up of the Year category honors new entrants making a significant contribution to the energy storage sector. It recognizes those who quickly gain a foothold through innovation, market traction, or the creation of a promising niche. EticaAG has achieved all three by developing non-flammable lithium-ion systems that allow safe siting in challenging environments, from urban rooftops to critical infrastructure.

The Breakthrough R&D/Innovation of the Year award celebrates organizations whose scientific or technical breakthroughs have reshaped the energy storage landscape. EticaAG’s LiquidShield™ technology stands out for eliminating thermal runaway risk while extending battery lifespan and maintaining uniform temperature control. It delivers both safety and performance without compromise.

The Product of the Year award recognizes the most influential, helpful, and trendsetting technology driving the energy transition. EticaAG’s integrated approach to safety, scalability, and efficiency positions its systems as key enablers of reliable, sustainable power for commercial, industrial, and utility applications.

The Safety Product of the Year award celebrates solutions that raise the standard for system protection and fire prevention. EticaAG’s non-flammable architecture, combined with HazGuard™ gas mitigation, addresses the industry’s most critical challenge—keeping both people and infrastructure safe in every operating environment.

Setting a New Standard for Battery Energy Storage

EticaAG’s immersion-cooled systems represent a new era of Battery Energy Storage System design that combines proactive fire prevention, advanced thermal management, and reduced environmental impact. The company’s ongoing UL 9540A testing and expansion into North American manufacturing further demonstrate its commitment to safety and innovation leadership.

“To be recognized in both the startup and innovation categories is an incredible milestone,” added Matthew Ward, President of EticaAG. “It reflects our belief that meaningful progress in energy storage starts with uncompromising safety and smarter engineering.”

The winners of The Energy Storage Awards will be announced during the Energy Storage Summit Awards Ceremony, celebrating excellence and leadership across the industry.

Award Update: EticaAG Highly Commended or 2 Awards

At the 2025 Energy Storage Awards, EticaAG was highly commended in two major categories: Safety Product of the Year and Product of the Year.

  • In the Safety Product of the Year category, the winning technology was Accure’s Battery Safety Feature.

  • In the Product of the Year category, the winner was Fluence’s SmartStack.
