EticaAG has been nominated for the PV Magazine Awards 2025 for its LiquidShield immersion-cooled BESS, recognized for advancing battery safety, stability, and performance while enabling safer, more flexible energy storage across commercial, industrial, and urban environments around the world today.

A Spotlight on Safety and Performance Leadership

EticaAG is proud to announce that our LiquidShield™ immersion-cooled lithium battery energy storage systems has been selected as a featured contender for the PV Magazine Awards 2025, one of the industry’s most respected recognitions for innovation and excellence across the global solar and energy storage sectors. The annual PV Magazine Awards shine a spotlight on the most forward-thinking products, technologies, and projects shaping the future of clean energy.

With entries now closed for 2025, PV Magazine has begun highlighting standout submissions across seven categories.EticaAG’s LiquidShield system is among the technologies showcased for redefining safety and performance in the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) category.

LiquidShield Featured for Fire-Safe BESS Innovation

In the Industry Highlights section of the May 2025 issue, PV Magazine emphasized the growing need for advanced safety solutions in energy storage. LiquidShield was recognized for its distinctive approach to preventing thermal runaway by fully immersing battery cells in a dielectric, non-toxic, biodegradable coolant with a high fire-point.

The magazine notes that EticaAG’s system submerges cells into a dielectric liquid that isolates heat at the source and blocks propagation paths before they can form. LiquidShield works in tandem with an advanced thermal fluid management design and EticaAG’s proprietary battery management system to monitor conditions such as cell temperature and early-stage failure signatures.

As highlighted on page 66 of the issue, this enables the system to maintain stable operating conditions across all cells, including during extreme thermal events. It further reinforces EticaAG’s focus on proactive fire prevention rather than reactive suppression — a growing priority across global safety standards.

Recognition Among Global BESS Innovators

LiquidShield appears alongside other innovative BESS technologies from Europe, Asia, and North America, including:

  • Nelinor (Finland): grid-integrated plug-and-play systems
  • Zhejiang Benyi New Energy: liquid-cooled C&I storage
  • TROES Corp. (Canada): microgrid-in-a-box platforms
  • Dunext Technology (Europe): rapid-deployment BESS solutions

This international lineup reflects the continued maturation of the global storage industry and reinforces the need for safety-centric solutions that expand siting flexibility, streamline permitting, and protect critical infrastructure.

A Milestone for EticaAG and Immersion-Cooled Storage

EticaAG’s nomination underscores the market’s increasing adoption of immersion architecture as the next major evolution in battery safety and longevity. LiquidShield delivers uniform temperature control, which is critical for preserving battery performance and maintaining fidelity to customer financial models, while supporting EticaAG’s mission to enable safer storage in urban, commercial, and industrial environments.

“We’re honored to see LiquidShield recognized by PV Magazine,” said Matthew Ward, President at EticaAG. “As storage systems become central to renewable integration and grid resilience, safety and thermal management must advance alongside scale. This nomination highlights the importance of technologies that eliminate ignition pathways and set a new standard for energy storage reliability.”

Winners Announced in December
